Error #90 Invalid hostname for HTTP proxy.
The HTTP Proxy hostname entered in the Proxy tab of the Preferences window is incorrect. Verify the HTTP Proxy hostname with your System Administrator. If you are not behind a firewall, you should not enter an HTTP Proxy.
This message occurs when incorrect information is entered into the Proxy field of the Proxy Preference in RealAudio Player or RealPlayer. In most cases, this problem is fixed by turning off Use Proxy in the Preferences. If that fails to correct the situation, you should contact your ISP or Network Administrator to obtain the proper Proxy settings.
To turn off the Use Proxy option:
- Open RealAudio Player or RealPlayer.
- From the View menu, select Preferences.
- In the Preferences dialog box, select the Proxy tab.
- Click on the box to the left of Use Proxy, so that there is no x in the box, and the selections below it are grayed out.
- Click Ok at the bottom of the Preferences dialog box.
- Test your player out by attempting to play a RealAudio file online.
If this fails, you should contact technincal support at your ISP, or contact your Network Administrator if you are on a corporate network. They will be able to give you the proper settings for this option.
