Using RealDownload

  1. How do I use RealDownload?

After you install RealDownload, it will automatically activate itself when you download. You can pause your download if you need to use the telephone or if you simply want to finish the download later. To finish your download, just click the Resume button. During the download, you can browse information in the InfoWindow.

  2. I was disconnected from from the Internet during a download. Now what?

If you lost your modem connection during a download, RealDownload can help. It will detect the loss of connection and automatically pause your download. Simply reconnect to the Internet. Once reconnected, click the Resume button to pick up the download from where you left off.

  3. What happens if I lose my connection to a download site while downloading a file?

If the server disconnects from RealDownload but your Internet connection is still working, RealDownload will automatically reconnect and continue the download. If the server is busy or not available, RealDownload will ask if you want to continue trying to connect.

  4. Why am I unable to pause and resume some of my downloads?

The RealDownload Pause/Resume feature works only when you download a file from a server that supports resumable downloads. Most servers on the Internet support resumable downloads, but some older servers may not.

  5. What if I do not want RealDownload to handle a particular download?

If there's a download link that you don't want RealDownload to handle for you, just hold down the control ("Ctrl") key on your keyboard when you click the link. Your web browser will handle the download as if RealDownload wasn't even there.
