Operating Systems MacOS 8.1 MacOS 8.5
Processor PowerPC G3 266 MHz or faster
Memory 32MB RAM 64MB RAM

This Macintosh implementation supports:

  • Compressed QuickTime files (requires QuickTime 3.0 or higher).
  • RealProducer G2 and RealProducer Plus G2 for Macintosh require RealPlayer G2.
  • RealProducer G2 and RealProducer Plus G2 for Macintosh do not support live broadcasting (but do support live capture).

Linux for Intel architecture machines
For compression of RealAudio or RealVideo:
  Minimum Recommended
Audio Pentium 120 MHz
with 32MB RAM
Pentium 200 MHz
with 64MB RAM
Video Pentium II 200 MHz
with 64MB
Pentium II 400 MHz
with 96MB

This Unix implementation supports:

  • Live audio and video encoding from multiple capture devices
  • Audio file encoding (.au and .wav)
  • Video file encoding (24 or 32 bit uncompressed Quicktime)

Minimum system requirements:

  • Linux 2.0.x or Linux 2.2 with video4linux1 bttv drivers compiled for video capture (Linux 2.2.x is recommended)
  • BT848 boards for video capture (e.g. Osprey 100)
  • OSS sound drivers for audio capture
  • libc6
  • libstdc++.so.2.8
