Downloading and Installing

  1. What are the system requirements for RealJukebox 2?

    The minimum requirements for using RealJukebox 2 are:

    • Windows 95 (with Service Pack 1 or later), Windows 98, Windows ME (Final Release version), Windows NT 4.0 (with Service Pack 4), or Windows 2000
    • Intel® Pentium® processor 200MHz MMX, or Cyrix® 6x86MX PR233, or AMD® K5 PR-200
    • 32 MB of RAM
    • 200 MB of free hard-disk space
    • CD-ROM drive
    • 16-bit sound card and speakers
    • Video card that supports a minimum resolution of 800x600, 16-bit color depth
    • Internet connection and web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later)
    • RealPlayer G2 (or later) or RealPlayer Plus G2 (or later). RealPlayer 8 can be downloaded with RealJukebox 2.

    The recommended system requirements for using RealJukebox 2 are:

    • Windows 95 (with Service Pack 1 or later), Windows 98, Windows ME (Final Release version), Windows NT 4.0 (with Service Pack 4), or Windows 2000
    • Intel® Pentium® processor 300 MHz MMX, Cyrix® M II-300, or AMD® K6-2/300
    • 64 MB of RAM
    • 1 GB of free hard-disk space for music files
    • CD-ROM Drive capable of Digital Audio Extraction
    • Video card that supports a minimum resolution of 800x600, 16-bit color depth
    • Full duplex sound card and speakers
    • Internet connection and web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later)
    • 56Kbps (or faster) modem
    • RealPlayer G2 or RealPlayer Plus G2 or later (RealPlayer 8 can be downloaded with RealJukebox 2)

    Note: OS requirements apply only to RealNetworks products. Third party plug-ins or add-ons may have different system requirements.

  2. How do I install RealJukebox 2?

    There are two installation paths for RealJukebox 2. Please choose the most appropriate option for your system.

    RealPlayer G2 or later is already installed
    Since RealPlayer G2 or later is already installed on your system, download the RealJukebox 2 installer program from the RealJukebox 2 download page.

    1. When prompted, choose Save to Disk and specify the folder where you want the RealJukebox 2 installation program to be saved.
    2. When the download is complete, double-click the RealJukebox 2 installer icon to begin the install process.

    RealPlayer G2 or later is not installed (or you do not know if it is installed)
    Since RealPlayer G2 or later is not installed (or you do not know if it is installed), download the combined RealPlayer and RealJukebox installer program from the RealJukebox 2 download page.

    1. When prompted, choose Save to Disk and specify the folder where you want the RealJukebox 2 installation program to be saved.
    2. When the download is complete, double-click the combined RealPlayer and RealJukebox installer icon to begin the install process.

  3. How do I upgrade my expired Beta copy of RealJukebox 2?

    If your Beta copy of RealJukebox 2 Basic or RealJukebox 2 Plus has expired, please download and install the final release version of RealJukebox 2.

    Copies of RealJukebox 2 Beta expired on September 17th, 2000.

  4. How do I prevent RealJukebox 2 from loading when Windows starts?

    To prevent RealJukebox 2 from loading when Windows starts, you must disable the RealJukebox 2 StartCenter. Disabling StartCenter will also prevent automatic notification of upgrades and other information.

    To disable StartCenter:

    1. Right mouse click on the RealJukebox 2 StartCenter icon in the Windows system tray.

      Note: The system tray is the area next to the clock on the Windows taskbar.

    2. Choose Disable StartCenter from the shortcut menu.
    3. Click Yes when prompted to disable StartCenter.

    RealJukebox 2 will no longer automatically load when Windows starts.

  5. When installing, why do I receive the error message "Sete3260.dll corrupt or missing"?

    If you receive the error message "Sete3260.dll corrupt or missing" when you install RealJukebox 2, you must reinstall RealPlayer G2 or later. RealJukebox 2 requires a working copy of RealPlayer in order to install. The error message "Sete3260.dll corrupt or missing" indicates that your copy of RealPlayer is damaged (or not installed).

    If you do not already have a copy of RealPlayer G2 (or later) on your system, you must download and install a copy before installing RealJukebox 2. You can download a copy of RealPlayer 8 from the RealPlayer download page.
