Frequently Asked Questions

General Use

  1. Why am I unable to hear any music when I start Surreal.FX?

The graphics in Surreal.FX are driven by audio played by RealPlayer or RealJukebox. You must start RealPlayer or RealJukebox, start playing music, and then you will see the graphics in Surreal.FX move in time with the music.

  2. Graphics in Surreal.FX are not moving in time with the music in RealJukebox or RealPlayer.

The graphics in Surreal.FX will only respond to music played with RealPlayer or RealJukebox. If you are playing music with Winamp, Windows Media Player, or some other music player, the graphics in Surreal.FX will not move in time with the music.

    -OR-

If you are using RealJukebox to play music tracks from a music CD in your CD drive, the graphics in Surreal.FX will not move in time with the music. You must record tracks on the audio CD to a RealAudio or MP3 file and then play that file with RealJukebox in order to drive the graphics in Surreal.FX.

  3. Will Surreal.FX work when RealPlayer or RealJukebox is not open?

Yes. Some visual elements will remain in an idle state until you begin playing music again.

  4. The preview window for 3D modules is not animated; I only see the animated visuals when I switch to full screen.

Some 3D accelerator cards cannot display 3D graphics inside a window with the Windows desktop displayed. In order to see the animated 3D graphics, click on the fullscreen button and your 3D card will take over the display and render the visuals. Press the Esc key to return to the Windows desktop.
