RealProducer allows you to convert audio, video, and events into a RealMedia stream. This stream can then be saved to a file, or broadcast over the Internet or Intranet with RealServer and viewed with RealPlayer.
The RealProducer ActiveX Control exposes the RealProducer's functionality through the COM IDispatch interface. This ActiveX Control allows Automation Controllers such as applications built with Microsoft Visual Basic or Visual C++ to easily use the functionality of RealProducer. The RealProducer ActiveX Control can even be embedded on a web page and controlled using a scripting language such as VBScript. In short, you can create an application that remotely controls encoding.
The RealProducer ActiveX Control is designed to work under the following programming environments:
The ActiveX Control also works with Microsoft Visual Basic Script, but not all methods can be used in this environment. These methods are marked as "not supported under VB Script."
For instructions on how to use all features of RealProducer, get the latest version of the RealProducer User's Guide available at http://service.real.com/help/library/index.html.
