RealJukebox Plus is the complete digital music system. With full CD quality recording capability, RealJukebox Plus is the most powerful and intuitive way to acquire, manage, and play your digital Music Library. It's just what you've always wanted!

Here's what RealJukebox Plus can do for you:

Read the following section, "How to Use this Manual," then move on to the "Getting Started" section to get started building your music collection in RealJukebox Plus.

How to Use This Manual

This manual has been designed to complement the online Help that comes with RealJukebox Plus, not to replace it. For your convenience, check Help first when looking for quick answers.

In many cases, RealJukebox Plus gives you multiple ways to achieve a goal: mouse-clicks, key-presses, menu items, and more. In general, the instructions in this manual present one method for achieving your goal. Feel free to explore and learn what works best for you.

Chapter 1: Getting Started contains installation instructions and a Quick Start section to help you get up and running quickly.

Chapters 2 - 7 provide in-depth information on RealJukebox Plus features and functionality.

Appendixes A - D contain additional information you may find helpful, including a Troubleshooting section should you have difficulty with the product. This section also contains the information you'll need to contact RealNetworks in case of difficulties that cannot be resolved using online Help or this manual.

The Glossary contains definitions of terms used throughout this manual. Be sure to refer to the glossary whenever you come across a term or concept you're not familiar with.

The following guidelines will help you to get the most out of the RealJukebox Plus manual.

Text Conventions

Key-presses appear in BOLD CAPS:

Press CTRL-B.

Mouse-clicks appear in Bold Title Case:

Click the Play button.

Menu names appear in Plain Title Case. Menu commands and submenus appear in Bold Title Case and can be separated by ellipses (...). The instruction below tells you to open the Options menu and select Preferences, then select General:

Activate the StartCenter in the Options menu under Preferences...General.

Points out features available only in RealJukebox Plus.

Instructional Formats

Numbered instructions indicate a series of steps which must be completed in sequence to achieve the desired result.

To enable playback while recording:

1. Open the Options menu and select Preferences.

2. Click the General tab.

3. Check "Start Playback with Record." Your CDs will now play as you record them.

Bulleted instructions are stand-alone procedures; these are not dependent on one another, and may be performed in any order. Each achieves a desired result in and of itself.

Mouse Clicks

Chances are, your computer mouse uses a standard configuration. If this is the case, then a "click" instruction, as in "Click the Play button," indicates the left mouse button. If your mouse is configured as illustrated below, the mouse-click instructions in this manual should be self-explanatory.

Standard Mouse Button Configuration
Mouse Button Function

Left button

primary click (the button you click for most operations, such as opening a file in Windows)

Right button

secondary click (the button you use least often, such as to bring up quick-menus in Windows)

If you prefer to use your left hand to run your mouse, you may have chosen a different configuration than the one above (most likely, the reverse). If this is the case, please use the following guidelines when reading this manual.

The instruction "Click" always refers to the primary mouse button:

Click OK.

The instruction "Right-click" always refers to the secondary mouse button:

Right-click any track in the track list.
