Welcome to RealPresenter 8 from RealNetworks. RealPresenter allows you to convert Microsoft^® PowerPoint^® presentations or Web presentations into streaming media presentations for use on the World Wide Web or a corporate Intranet. Adding RealAudio^® and RealVideo^® opens up a whole new dimension to your slides.

Features in this Version

This version of RealPresenter allows you to do the following:

Create on-demand streaming media presentations from your PowerPoint slides, adding audio and video narration.
Create presentations that are easy to navigate.
Schedule and announce live presentations using Microsoft Schedule Plus or e-mail.
Broadcast presentations live to an audience of up to fifteen people within your network.
Edit completed presentations, changing narration or deleting slides.
Customize presentations for your audience.

Plus-Only Features

If you have purchased RealPresenter Plus, you can also do the following with this product:

Create Web Tour presentations, adding audio and video narration to tours of Web pages.
Broadcast your live presentations via a remote RealServer, or broadcast to up to 25 people within your network
Publish your presentation to a RealServer.

About This Manual

Chapter 1: Installing RealPresenter explains installation procedures and provides information about system requirements for installing and using RealPresenter.

Chapter 2: Presentation Basics contains general information about media (video and audio) concepts and using media over networks. It describes the different components of a streaming media presentation (including SMIL) and is recommended regardless of whether you are new to media or an experienced media producer.

Chapter 3: Converting PowerPoint Slides into Streaming Media shows you how to create a RealMedia presentation from your PowerPoint slides.

Chapter 4: Creating a Web Tour Presentation shows you how to create a narrated tour of Web sites if you have the Plus version of RealPresenter.

Chapter 5: Scheduling and Broadcasting a Live Presentation introduces you to live broadcasting, and it shows you how to stream your presentations directly to your audience.

Chapter 6: Reviewing, Editing, and Publishing Your Presentations shows you how to play, change, publish, and keep track of your current presentations.
