Release Notes: RealPlayer 4.0 for Macintosh
About the RealPlayer 4.0
RealPlayer 4.0 brings broadcast quality video to the Internet. RealPlayer 4.0 can play both RealAudio and RealVideo clips.
After you have clicked a RealAudio or RealVideo file, you can continue to use your Web browser while RealPlayer 4.0 is playing. If you want, you can minimize the RealPlayer 4.0 while you use other applications. You can also choose to have the RealPlayer 4.0 displayed in front of active applications. Either way, the RealPlayer 4.0 continues to play the selected file until the file is finished, or until it is stopped or paused, without interfering with the functionality of other programs.
RealPlayer 4.0 has been optimized to work with the Macintosh Power PC. Refer to the System Requirements for additional information about sytem requirements.
To use your RealPlayer 4.0, connect to a World Wide Web site that has RealAudio or RealVideo content. The RealNetworks Home Page is a good starting point. For a complete listing of all World Wide Web sites that feature RealAudio and RealVideo content, see Timecast: the RealMedia Guide.
To set up your RealPlayer 4.0, follow the instructions in the Quick Start section.
