Introducing RealOne Player

The RealOne Player is a digital media Player that:

From the RealOne Player on the desktop, you can copy and convert digital RealOne media and MP3 to your Pocket PC.

Tap To
Play a clip from start or paused state.
Pause playback of a clip.
Stop playback and set clip to the beginning.
Advance to next clip in playing list.
Go back to previous clip in playing list.
Set the volume to zero.
Return volume to previous level.

Hide all controls and enlarge the screen to fill the Pocket PC screen.

File Menu

You can load/unload the clips in the RealOne Player by using the commands on the File menu. To access the commands in the following table, tap File.

Tap To
About... Display information about the RealOne Player.
Clip Info... Display information for the currently queued clip.
Playlist... Create/Edit your Playlist.
Open File... Play a media file from your Pocket PC or storage device.
Open Location... Enter URL to stream a media file from a network.
Exit Close RealOne Player

Options Menu

You can set network preferences, set video properties, shuffle clips in a playlist, check/uncheck continuous mode by using the commands on the Options menu. To access the commands in the following table, tap Options.

Tap To
Preferences Configure RealOne Player options.
Shuffle Play clips in a playlist in random order.
Continuous Loop the clip(s) in the Now Playing List.
Full Screen Hide all controls and enlarge the screen to fill the Pocket PC screen before clip playback.

Playlists

A Playlist contains one or more clips that the RealOne Player will play in sequence. They can be audio clips, video clips, or a combination.

Play a Playlist

  1. Tap File > Playlist....
  2. Tap the desired playlist or the default All My Media Playlist.
  3. Tap Play .

  1. Tap File > Playlist....
  2. On the dialog box, tap New.
  3. Tap in the edit box, and enter a playlist name.
  4. Tap the box next to each item you want to include in the playlist.
  5. Tap Check All to include all the clips on your device

Edit a Playlist

  1. Tap File > Playlist....
  2. Select the Playlist to edit.
  3. Tap Edit on the dialog box.
  4. Tap Add Clips on the dialog box.
  5. Tap the box next to each item you want to include in the playlist.
  6. Tap Check All to include all the clips on your device
  7. Tap the Up arrow to move the selected clip up in the list.
  8. Tap the down arrow to move the selected clip down in the list.
  9. Tap the trash can icon to remove the selected clip.

  3. Tap the trash can icon to remove the selected Playlist.

Copy Files to Your Pocket PC

From your RealOne desktop Player, use the Devices feature to install a Pocket PC plug-in and copy media clips to your Pocket PC. Use the plug-in features to move files from your desktop RealOne Player to your Pocket PC device.

  2. Select a clip stored on the storage card or on the device's ROM.

  2. Enter a URL at the end of rtsp://

  2. Under Video Size, choose from the following to set video display:
    Tap To
    Best Fit View the optimal display size.
    Original Resize the video screen to 100% of content size.
    Double Resize the video screen to 200% of content size

  2. Tap Use RTSP proxy.
  3. Enter the name of the proxy server and port number in the fields provided.

Troubleshooting Your RealOne Player

  1. Clip is not Playable
  2. Server Disconnected Unexpectedly
  3. Failed to connect to server
  4. File or URL not found
  5. Incorrect or Malformed Protocol
  6. Response or data from server timed out
  7. RealOne Player or back end shut down unexpectedly
  8. RealOne Player Engine could not be started
  9. Required system resource unavailable
  10. Audio device already in use
  11. Lost Access to Audio Device
  12. Insufficient memory to continue

Clip is not Playable

The type of clip selected for playback is not supported by this version of the RealOne Player. Please select another file.



Server Disconnected Unexpectedly

RealOne Player has been disconnected from the RealSystem Server. The network may be experiencing high traffic or your internet connection may be working poorly.



Failed to connect to server

RealOne Player is unable to connect to the requested server. Please check the address and try again. If the address is correct, there may be a problem with your connection to the Internet or the desired server.



File or URL not found

The clip selected has not been found on the system. Please select another clip or location.



Incorrect or Malformed Protocol

The requested stream cannot be provided. The URL may be incorrect or the server port may be set incorrectly.



Response or data from server timed out

RealOne Player has terminated its connection to the server. This may occur because of network problems such as packet loss or data call termination.



RealOne Player or back-end shut down unexpectedly

Due to unexpected behavior by this device, RealOne Player will not function properly. Please shut down all applications and restart RealOne Player.



RealOne Player engine could not be started

Due to unexpected behavior by this device, RealOne Player will not function properly. Please shut down all applications and restart RealOne Player



Resource not available

RealOne Player needs system resources that are currently unavailable. Please shut down other applications and restart the RealOne Player.



Audio device already in use

As a result of another application using the audio interface, RealOne Player will not operate properly. Please shut down the application and play the clip again.



Lost Access to Audio Device

As a result of another application or phone function using the audio interface, RealOne Player will not operate properly. Please shut down the application or stop the phone feature and play the clip again.



Insufficient memory to continue

RealOne Player has insufficient memory to play the requested clip. This may be due to too many applications being open. Large video sizes also use more memory.
