System and Software Requirements
RealAudio Player 3.0 is available for the following UNIX systems:
- Linux 1.2.x with an OSS (Voxware) 3.0 sound driver or Linux 2.0.x with an OSS 3.5.x sound driver on a Pentium machine.
- Solaris 2.5
- Solaris 2.4
- SunOS 4.1.x
- Irix 5.3
- FreeBSD 2.0
To display your UNIX version number, type the command:

If you do not have a OSS 3.0.1 or Voxware/TASD 3.5-beta1 Sound Driver, you can download one free from the OSS Driver Home Page. |
RealAudio Player for UNIX requires:
- An Internet Connection. You can connect through a direct link (such as a T1 link) or through a modem. It is stronly recommended that you use a 28.8 Kbps modem (or faster connection). A 14.4 Kbps modem will limit your ability to access much of the higher-quality RealAudio content.
- An X11 Windowing Environment, version R4 or later
- A color or grayscale display
- 16 megabytes of RAM
- 2 megabytes of free disk space
- A web browser:
- Netscape Navigator, version 2.0 or later
- Mosaic, version 2.6 or 2.7
