In addition to RealPlayer Plus 4.0, several different special-purpose RealPlayer 4.0 components are installed on your computer. The components work with different elements within World Wide Web pages to deliver RealAudio and RealVideo clips in a variety of ways. The RealPlayer Plus 4.0 components are:

RealPlayer Plug-in
The Plug-in provides access to RealAudio and RealVideo programming and extends the audio and video capabilities of your Netscape browser (Netscape Navigator 2.0 or later).

RealPlayer Control for ActiveX
The control provides access to RealAudio and RealVideo programming and extends the audio and video capabilities of your Internet Explorer 3.0 browser and Visual Basic applications. The ActiveX control is not available for Windows 3.1x.

RealAudio Xtra for Shockwave
The RealAudio Xtra for Shockwave provides RealAudio programming within a Macromedia Shockwave movie. The RealAudio Xtra for Shockwave is not available for Windows 3.1x.
